Hello everyone, Welcome back to the “Should You Pull” series— Providing you new banner and unit analysis, as well as scouting recommendations!

Note: These reviews are subjective and based solely on the opinions of the author. They are by no means guides that you must follow, so feel free to agree or disagree and share your own opinions; The primarily goal of these is to discuss current banners and new units with the community, and to provide additional insight from veteran players to those that would like it.

Today’s piece will cover the new [The Integrity Knight With the Black Sword] Kirito and [Sprint Towards the Future] Ronie units.

[The Integrity Knight with the Black Sword] Kirito

Element – Fire
Weapon
– Dual Sword
Kit
– [B] [A] [EM]

Physical Attack: 2380

[The Integrity Knight With the Black Sword] Kirito now has the highest attack stat among all Fire-elemental units, with the next two units being [Overflowing Affection] Eydis (2328) and [Searing Tenacity] Iskahn (2320). For comparison purposes, he also has the second highest physical attack stat in the game, which is currently a title held by the new [Serene Shooting Star] Asuna (2410, Light). All things considered, his high base stats combined with being an EM unit mark him as another top DPS unit for Fire-elemental team compositions.

Other notes on base stats:

The rest of the base stats for [The Integrity Knight With the Black Sword] Kirito are pretty average and in-line with other recently released units. They are quite literally identical to the last Dual Sword Kirito, minus the higher ATK stat. He has slightly above-average HP (6120), average MP (236) slightly below-average DEF and MDEF (1140 and 1116 respectively), average CRIT (660), and mid-range speed (308). Nothing too important here, though he might feel a bit slow in some situations.

Inferno Strike B
Slash attack (strong*) on single enemy. Lowers enemy’s incarnate charge by 20% for 3 turns. Incarnate break 50*%.

Double Circular A
Slash attack (extra strong) on a single enemy. Lowers physical res. by 15% for 1 turn.

Enhance Mode
Places your character into Enhance Mode, strengthening your skills, and increasing MP Required on usable skills for 2 turns. Increases own Incarnate Break by x1.3 for 1 turn.

Release Recollection
Incarnate slash attack on a single enemy. Damage increases when an enemy’s incarnate is 150% or over.

Specific Imaginarium
Imaginarium of [The Integrity Knight With the Black Sword] Kirito
Decreases Required MP by 2.5% when there is a Wind-elemental enemy.

Additional Comments: Kirito came out of nowhere and is the first EM unit we have received since [Overflowing Affection] Eydis back at the end of September. He is obviously a DPS unit first and foremost, but will also have significant breaking ability thanks to his Enhance Mode skill increasing Incarnate Break by x1.3 for the following turn. In this scenario, he will break for 78.00%, before considering elemental-bonuses and Break Yell. On subsequent turns he will break for 60.00%. His ASSAULT skill is okay, but won’t see a damage boost from other multipliers and only offers 15% Res. Down, compared to the standard 20%. His Incarnate skill does additional damage when the enemy has high Incarnate charge, so this will be his main form of DPS.

[Sprint Towards the Future] Ronie

Element – Fire
Weapon – Sword
Kit – [H] [A] [E]

Notes on base stats:

As a non-DPS-focused unit, there isn’t a need to highlight a specific stat of Ronie’s, so we will instead just provide a general overview. [Sprint Towards the Future] Ronie, has okay base stats, though hers are more towards the below-average end of things, ATK included. She has below-average HP (5940), average MP (236), average ATK (2230), slightly below-average DEF and MDEF (1116 and 1140 respectively), below-average CRIT (624), and slightly below-average SPD (307). Considering her unit-type, these stats aren’t all too detrimental. Yell units typically have lower-end HP and CRIT, but the difference here is that Ronie has a very low SPD stat compared to previous units. The only real downside is actually the fact that she is a Physical-oriented unit, as this takes away some of her healing potential (since Heals are based on the MATK stat).

Heal Area & Thermal Field
Recovers HP of all allies, including reserve characters (front line: weak*, reserve: weak). Recollection field (fire) +1.

Skill Connect Quadruple Paid Field A+
Slash attack (extra strong) on a single enemy. Raises Critical Damage of all allies by 20% for 2 turns.

Break Yell Plus
Raises Incarnate Break of a single ally by x2.25* for 1 turn.

Volcanic Rush Incarnate Skill
Incarnate slash attack on all enemies. Additional slash attack on a single enemy. Damage increases when recollection field gauge (fire) is step 3 or more.

Additional Comments: While her base statistics might not be great, I do personally think that Ronie is the more interesting of the two units available in this particular banner. She is the first unit in a long time to receive the 20% Critical Damage buff, and the now-first Yell unit to have anything of the sort. Additionally, her Incarnate has not one but two additional damage modifiers, so despite her average attack stat she should actually produce a quite high damage output. As many people will say, her SPD stat is on the low end for a dedicated buffer. Thankfully, at LI1 (Lv. 105), her E Skill will become Lv.3 and get Short-wait, solving any potential speed issues. She will also be extremely useful for this ranking event, as her being a Break Yell signals a need for such a unit, just like the last event. Being the strongest BY, she will be useful down the line in similar situations, regardless of element.

When should you consider pulling for Kirito and Ronie?

  • If you want to have a top-of-the-line Fire-elemental team, since Ronie has CRIT buff and Kirito offers very strong breaking potential.
  • If you lack Fire-elemental characters, since they can both act as additional high-DPS options for your team composition.
  • If you want a better Break Yeller, since Ronie is now undoubtedly the strongest in her class.
  • If you lack breakers, since Kirito now sits as the strongest pure-breaker for Fire-elemental teams.
  • If you have the additional resources and want to improve your existing Fire-elemental team.
  • If you really like their characters or the artwork that comes along with them, since Integrity Knight Kirito is illustrated by abec and will not be a regular occurrence and Ronie is another Moon Cradle unit.

Should I pull?

While not necessarily a must-pull like some of the previous banners have been, both of the units in the Sprint Towards the Future scout are strong in their own right and worth scouting for. Kirito offers the largest amount of break % out of all fire units, paired with high DPS, and Ronie is a strong utility unit having the first-ever CRIT damage buff on a fire-elemental unit and being able to hold her own DPS-wise. She will also be a QoL unit to have moving forward as the strongest Break Yeller and Bandai’s renewed focus on offering bosses with higher Incarnate charge that require this.

Common Questions

What about just doing the first discount pull?

While most players will be relatively low on cubes following the anniversary and other subsequent banners, the fact that both of these new units will be integral parts of any Fire-elemental team composition at this point in the game means that you should unquestionably be doing at least one step. For only 125 cubes, pulling even just a single duplicate ★4 makes it generally worth the investment.

Any advice regarding weapon banners?

Discounted weapon banners are 100% worth pulling on, almost every single time. They only cost 75 Diamond Cubes, and pulling even just a single off-banner ★4 makes them worth the investment thanks to their being usable by any unit of that weapon type. Additionally, weapons starting with the first Anniversary units now have a 12% passive buff to ATK/MATK instead of the previous 9% when not MLB, so they will automatically be stronger than pretty much all of the previous ones.

Final Thoughts

Overall, having looked at both characters, the Sprint Towards the Future banner is definitely worth pulling on, though you might not want to go “all-in.” Both [The Integrity Knight With the Black Sword] Kirito and [Sprint Towards the Future] Ronie are strong additions to an element than needed an extra unit or two to fully round out a solid, modern team. Kirito offers extra breaking prowess as a high DPS unit, and Ronie offers some much needed utility to an element that previously didn’t have it. Ronie is, surprisingly, the likely chase unit here if you had to label one or the other as such, though many people will want to pick up Kirito as well.

There is a strong possibility of another fire unit being released next week, so for patient players it might be smartest to wait and see what that unit looks like. But considering both of these units are strong, and the fact that there certainly won’t be another fire-elemental BY or abec-illustrated artwork anytime soon, there is little downside to scouting for these two units.

Nice write up. Thank you for the infomation. I just pulled both of them on step 5. I only have enough crystals to MLB one of them. Who would you choose? I have lots of fire chargers and breakers already so I’m just looking at which has the bigger impact on an already stacked fire team.
