Hello everyone, Welcome back to the “Should You Pull” series—
We provide you with new banner and unit analysis, as well as scouting recommendations!

Note: These reviews are subjective and based solely on the opinions of the author. They are by no means guides that you are required to follow, so feel free to agree or disagree and share your own opinions; The primary goal of these is to discuss new units with the community, and to provide additional insight from veteran players to those that would like it.

Today’s piece will cover the new [Renaissance Diva] Seven unit.

*This article is being written after the information on Unital Ring Part 2 was made available in order to provide more accurate advice.

[Renaissance Diva] Seven

Element – Earth
– Dagger
– [C] [A] [E]

Magic Attack: 2360

[Renaissance Diva] Seven now has the highest magic attack stat among all Earth-elemental units, with the next two units being [Descended Goddess of Creation] Asuna (2305) and [Piercing Sun Goddess] Sinon (2295). This now places her solidly as one of the best magic attack characters overall, as she sits as the second strongest magic unit in the game. Being the strongest Earth-elemental magic unit means that she will likely have a comparably high damage output to match, even if this isn’t the primary reason to use her character.

Other notes on base stats:

The rest of the base stats for [Renaissance Diva] Seven are reasonably strong as well. She has below-average HP (5784), but above-average MP (243), average DEF and high MDEF (1154 and 1278 respectively), below-average CRIT (594), and high SPD (319). Similar to seemingly all of the other recent units, players won’t really have anything to complain about when it comes to Seven’s stats.

Skill Connect Earth Arrow C#
Magic attack (strong*) on a single enemy. Reduces ATK by 10% for 2 turns. Incarnate charge 20.00*%

Energy Bolt A#
Magic attack (extra strong) on a single enemy. Raises ATK & MATK of all allies by 15% for 2 turns.

Protect & Mind Field
Raises physical res. and magic res. of all allies, including reserve characters by 20% for 3 turns. Recollection field (earth) +1.

Beyond the Rainbow
Incarnate magic attack on a single enemy. Raises ATK & MATK of all allies by 10% for 3 turns.

Specific Imaginarium
Imaginarium of [Renaissance Diva] Seven
Increases CHARGE by 10% vs. water-elemental enemies when using a CHARGE skill.

Additional Comments: Writing this in hindsight now that we have the character information for Unital Ring – Part 2’s [Wilderness Explorer] Sinon and [Soaring Over the Horizon] Leafa, I’m rather split on the viability of Seven’s unit. On release, she was one of the two things Earth desperately needed, that being a strong ATK & MATK buffer with a reasonable damage output. But now that Sinon has inherited the important parts of this for her own Enhance Skill, while at the same time offering the other half of what Earth-elemental teams needed, where does that leave Seven?

Seven’s primary skill is her CHARGE attack, which unfortunately only reduces the enemy’s ATK stat for 2 turns instead of offering the more-useful Res. down ability. Her Enhance Skill does also offer Recollection field +1 in addition to the Res. buff, but isn’t reason enough to use the skill in the first place. Resistance-buffing is really only helpful in specific boss battles and isn’t necessary for most scenarios.

The main reason you would want to use Seven is, as mentioned, for the AOE ATK & MATK buff she offers on her ASSAULT skill and Incarnate, with her damage output being the secondary option. These skills, while still very strong, have had their impact lessened with the introduction of more-recent Unital Ring Part 2 banner and the solidification of Earth as a primarily physical-only element.

When should you consider pulling for Seven?

  • If you lack Earth-elemental characters, since Seven should prove to be a strong Buffer + DPS option.
  • If you lack chargers, since Seven will now sit of one of the stronger options in the Earth-elemental character pool.
  • If you want to min-max your Score on the current Ranking Event, since new units offer 50% Incarnate Charge/ea at the beginning of a run.
  • If you have the additional resources and want to add more units to your existing Earth-elemental lineup.
  • If you really like Seven as a character or the artwork that comes along with her.

Should I pull?

Since this article is being written with a four day delay, I can be more definitive with my advice in regards to pulling for [Renaissance Diva] Seven in the Lost Song 6-Year Anniversary banner. If you have already started the Step-Up for her unit, then depending on where you’re at it may still be worth finishing. Step 1 is worth doing, and the same can be said for Step 3. If you don’t have Seven yet and are facing Step 5, I would delay doing this and instead put the 250 Diamond Cubes into the Unital Ring – Part 2 banner. This newer offering is certainly where available resources should be used, and those who haven’t yet pulled for Seven should skip doing so and focus on the newer characters first. Both [Wilderness Explorer] Sinon and [Soaring Over the Horizon] Leafa are stronger than Seven.

Common Questions

What about just doing the first discount pull?

I personally think that doing at least the discount for Seven is worth it, but only after doing the discount on the Unital Ring Part 2 scout. This still holds true even if you already have a strong team, since Seven offers a multi-stat AOE buff that was previously missing from the Earth element. For only 125 cubes, pulling even just a single duplicate ★4 makes it generally worth the investment.

Any advice regarding weapon banners?

Discounted weapon banners are 100% worth pulling on, almost every single time. They only cost 75 Diamond Cubes, and pulling even just a single off-banner ★4 makes them worth the investment thanks to their being usable by any unit of that weapon type. Additionally, weapons starting with the first Anniversary units now have a 12% passive buff to ATK/MATK instead of the previous 9% when not MLB, so they will automatically be stronger than pretty much all of the previous ones.

Final Thoughts

[Renaissance Diva] Seven is still a very strong Earth-elemental unit when analyzed on her own, but one that was immediately overshadowed by the Unital Ring units that followed her. The MATK half of what makes her Enhance skill so potent has essentially been neutralized with Earth now being a physical-primary element. The ATK half has been inherited by [Wilderness Explorer] Sinon, and she additionally offers the much-needed Recollection field and CRIT buff. While Seven is also one of the strongest magical damage options, this has been surpassed by [Soaring Over the Horizon] Leafa due to her being a physical charge unit offering more synergy with modern Earth-elemental team compositions.

My final determination is this: To over-generalize, the more older Earth-elemental units still being used, the more useful [Renaissance Diva] Seven will be for your team composition. She will pair extremely well with the mermaid and Goddess units, and compliment the newer Anniversary Kirito and Asuna. If prioritizing the Unital Ring – Part 2 banner as recommended, pulling both of them effectively neutralizes the primary need for Seven, allowing you to safely skip her as a non-limited character.

Did you already scouting for this new character? Do you have a different opinion when it comes to Seven’s viability as a unit and whether or not players should scout for her? Let us know in the comments or in the community Discord server!

would you say she’s a better charger than the new Leafa? Each imaginarium increases her charge by 10%, would having 4 of them increase her charge by 40%? And are Imaginarium bonuses affected by charge buffers?
