Comments on Base Stats
[Life of Tomorrow] Alice has a base MATK of (2360), which is tied for 3rd overall and second out of the Fire-elemental characters. Her damage output has been tested and is slightly lower than [New Era] Kirito, which makes Alice one of the stronger DPS for her element. The rest of her base stats are solid as well. She has high HP (6498) and high MDEF (1224), with everything else being at least average. So there is nothing to complain about when it comes to her status.
Comments on Kit
Alice’s kit is where she significantly falls behind the other current Fire-elemental banner. While she is notably tied with [Radiant Scent] Yuuki as the best Charger when it comes to raw % after factoring in Imaginarium, that’s where the major benefits stop. All three abilities raise her own Critical Damage, but using her on a team with Asuna, Kirito, and/or Ronie renders this almost completely redundant. There is no additional utility to speak of other than her CHARGE skill lowering the enemy’s Incarnate Break by 50% for two turns, which can be helpful in some situations. Overall, it’s rather lackluster, especially following the previous banner.
[Life of Tomorrow] Alice is a decent upgrade to some other, older Fire units, but she doesn’t offer anything notable outside of her charging ability and the fact that being MATK allows her to work well with optimal Fire-elemental team compositions. Her damage output is relatively strong compared to most of the competition though, so she could solidly fill a DPS position for some players. Less important, but still worth mentioning, is the fact that she is one of the first wave of MATK-based Leader skills, so having at least one of these characters will automatically improve the damage output of Magic-based teams. Additionally, having Asuna as her special partner means she is a trailing option for the optimal active link combination.
When should you consider pulling for Alice?
Note: There is a Limited Fire-elemental banner going on during the same period, so it is recommended to focus your resources towards getting those characters instead.
- If you lack Fire-elemental characters, since Alice is a relatively strong addition to the element.
- If you lack Fire-elemental chargers, since she has the highest raw Charge % once you factor in her Imaginarium.
- If you have additional resources to use on her, since she does make the current optimal Fire-elemental team.
- If you want to min-max your Score on the current Ranking Event, since new units offer additional Incarnate Charge at the beginning of a run.
- If you really like Alice as a character or the artwork that comes along with her.
“Should You Pull?” Final Thoughts
The main detriment to [Life of Tomorrow] Alice is her release timing. While she is a decently solid Fire character overall like most new units are, and a good charger, she pales in comparison to the other ongoing banner to the point that resources would generally be wasted on her vs. [Together in This World] Asuna or [New Era] Kirito. This simply isn’t the Fire-elemental banner players should be focusing on. As a result, it is generally accepted to recommend skipping her in favor of either the 1.5-Year Anniversary Part 1 Scout, or saving your resources for the other upcoming 1.5-Year Anniversary banners.
What about just doing the first discount pull?
The discount step on this banner is a toss-up. If you absolutely must try for Alice, or already have Asuna and Kirito from the previous banner with resources left over, then I think that you’re fine trying out the banner once. While we normally say that pulling even just a single duplicate ★4 makes it generally worth the investment, we can’t recommend scouting this banner for that reason, as there are currently other, better-value resource-sinks.
Any advice regarding weapon banners?
Note: Only scout this weapon banner if you need additional Fire-elemental swords, and not to match Alice with her weapon. The Fire King Sword R4‘s primary stat is ATK, whereas Alice is MATK, so they aren’t a good match.
Discounted weapon banners are 100% worth pulling on, almost every single time. They only cost 75 Diamond Cubes, and pulling even just a single off-banner ★4 makes them worth the investment thanks to their being usable by any unit of that weapon type. Additionally, weapons starting with the first Anniversary units now have a 12% passive buff to ATK/MATK instead of the previous 9% when not MLB, so they will automatically be stronger than pretty much all of the previous ones.
